I just started a myspace site and want to upload some pictures of my favorite actor, but I’m afraid to do so. My friend said that I could be fined or spend time in jail for using copyrighted pictures I didn’t pay to use. Practically every site on myspace has pictures of celebrities or bands, etc. So does that mean the people behind those sites can really be fined or go to jail?!
Technically, you can get in trouble for using a copyrighted image without written permission from the photographer. It’s in the MySpace TOS. However, I doubt anyone actually cares if its just MySpace.
*note* If a photographer sees you using his/her picture he may ask you to take it down if he really cares and if that happens you should oblige asap because he will then have the right to report you and get your account deleted.
Also don’t pretend to be the celebrity in the picture and all should be fine.
No, any pictures of celebrities or public places are fine as long as you aren’t selling them.

nah well they shouldn’t fine you for using ur favorite celeb pictures. people do it all the time…especially all the posers out there who pretend to be selena gomez and demi lovato and others…ya im sure they actually so have a myspace or something but like wayy more than half of them are super fake.
so go ahead and besides how would they ever find out that it was you anyways?
