Can they hear what comes from it too?

Yes they can. If mine sees squirrels or birds on the screen she will sit right in front and watch them.

they are color blind but they can see pictures and hear the tv. When I have animal planet on my dog will sit at the end of the bed and watch tv. She hears the other dogs and my cat does the same thing. But it also depends on what show it is. They only like certain shows lol

I would say they can. Once I was watching a show about big cats, and my cat started attentively watching the screen. Then he sat and stared at it like a child on Saturday mornings.

Mine do……..they love to watch the NASCAR races, with all of the cars roaring around…….They also will sit for the whole hour to watch the Meercats……..

So, I guess my answer would be YES, to both questions.

Yes, but not the way we see it. From what I understand, their eyesight picks up more than us, so a tv would look more like a slide show – not like normal movement.

Absolutely. I’m not sure what attracts them to the screen, but mine will randomly watch TV. They will also watch videos and screen savers on my computer screen. I even have a VHS tape of birds chirping and fish, like in an aquarium, just swimming around – they are mesmerized.
As for hearing – theirs is much more acute than ours. Just watch their ears twitch and they will stare in a direction before you ever hear a thing.
(Sometimes that can be a little spooky, especially if you never hear or see anything and they just keep staring all crouched down with ears on alert!)
