Thongs stay in place like all other items of underwear, however, I guess the brevity of the design makes them a lil more prone to exposing too much.

For a woman, something like a Wicked Weasel is probably best avoided if the aim is to remain covered, and for a guy, my advice is to get anatomical thongs, something from the Ergowear range.
