She is proud that she is helping to care for them, loves them and her job.

So she will take pictures with her iphone and upload them–kids playing, or her taking a angle pic with the toddler.

I asked her if the parents know their kids are on her fb page—-and she said she doesn’t see what the big deal is, she loves her job-why not show it off.

Is this legal?!

This is actually a big question right now that is getting a lot of legal wheels turning, but it isn’t completely clear. Facebook has been around for a while, but laws haven’t really evolved to the point where they need to be to adapt to a huge online social sphere.

It may seem a little harsh, but she is actually in the wrong if she is publishing photos on facebook of children without the parents’ permissions. The penalty for doing so varies depending on your state. If your child is one of the kids and you feel uncomfortable you can either contact facebook about it or file an injunction with the help of an attorney.

Yes, but I buy one of the cheaper options with just 1 5×7, 1 3×5 (for nana) and then I think 8 wallets.

The only times I have them pose is on their birthday when I put a sign saying their age in front of them and on the first day of school always in the same place. Otherwise I just take pictures of what they are doing.

You kidding? As if i could get her to sit still long enough!

Most of mine are action shots but i get a lot of good ones.

The only time ill dress her up is for an xmas or bday shot, and usually im.not the photographer

She is harrassing the girls and I don’t know how to ignore it anymore. Pictures??? Really? Can she do this? What can I do?

Threatening to harm them in any way is simple assault. I suggest calling the police and filing a complaint. Do you have witnesses? That will be necessary if she denies your allegations. Adult witnesses are better than child witnesses.

The pictures aren’t illegal in themselves, but a good Judge will issue a restraining order and shut that down as well.

The police may require you to go to the police station at your expense to file the complaint for the assault – and threatening to knock a child out is absolutely assault, and is a crime.

Problem is I want to send them to my MIL, but, I feel uncomfortable having pictures of the kids displayed in front of the angry people who show animosity towards us.

Send them to her. If you love her get over the fact that she may hang it in the house. It her house and most likely she will want everyone to be proud of her grandkids.

I would ask them to remove it. I find the posting of pictures of another person, especially a minor, on the internet is not advisable and a violation of privacy at minimum.

yes, it’s stupid, and she’s a f*cktard for doing it. it’s one thing to put pics on facebook, where people can decide IF they want to look, but she crossed the line, into psycho parent planet. you made the right choice throwing them away. i applaud you!
