any free programs that convert normal pictures into art .i.e.comic book style animation or cartoon please help me

This can be done but there is no easy way to do it. The only free program that could be powerful enough to do it is GIMP (photoshop clone) Though I like to use Photoshop More. There are things called Actions in photoshop and Filters that can turn a photo into something like a colored pencil drawing to pop art drawing but, what you might be asking would take a lot of manual labor and won’t be easy. I will give you a link to GIMP program

Please I really want to know and tell me EVERY SINGLE DETAIL on how you get to choose your picture please.

To create/change a Yahoo cartoon avatar go here:

Then go to: http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit , click "use my yahoo avatar" -> scroll down -> click "preview" and then "ok".

For all other picture avatars:

http://profiles.yahoo.com/ – go here to create a profile -> click "change photo" -> click "add photo" -> select the picture you want from your harddrive -> click "save". Now click "use selected photo", done.

Note: the pic has to be a .jpg or .png file, it must be smaller than 5 MB, and it also has to be square.

1> Click the “appearance” tab to choose your skin color, face and eyes, and hairstyle. Pick your eye and hair colors by clicking on the colored squares to the right of each image.

2> Click the "apparel" tab You can try on full outfits or different tops and bottoms. Mix and match.

3> Click the “extras" tab to try out accessories like sunglasses. sports and hobbies gear such as backpacks, bikes, and snowboards. Adopt a cute pet. Or try different hats.

4> Click the "Backgrounds" tab if you like the snow, the beach, or a nightclub.

Once you’ve customized your avatar, don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the Profile page and press "Preview", and then "OK" in the next screen. And your done.

How do I make those cartoon people that people have as their profile picture instead of this gray man that I have currently?

The cartoon profile is called "avatars". You may create your own avatar profile by visiting http://avatars.yahoo.com

or Click here:

You may then select the looks and style of the profile that suites your preference. This avatar profile will be reflected in all your account in Yahoo. i.e. Yahoo Messenger, etc.
