    Pfft, …

    @Disneyfan82
    Pfft, if I was bothered, I wouldn’t have responded in the first place.
    I liked Treasure Planet too, I thought it was a nice spin on an old tale, but many people I talk to about these things forgot it existed. Then they go “Oh, right.. eh, it was okay.”

    Critics are weird these days. Most will call something utter when it’s not, and highly praise something that doesn’t deserve it, and all the while have no idea what they’re even talking about.

    I guess I misunderstood that a little, sorry. :( But I never thought Treasure Planet was that bad either. Sometimes I think critics take everything too seriously these days with their cold and snotty remarks. I guess I’ll never truly understand such things. It’s just that I remember hearing users say these things on the Ultimatedisney website chatroom years ago. Hope I’m not bothering you with these responses. If so, then I’ll stop if you want. I’m just wondering.

    Well …

    @Disneyfan82
    Well, what I meant is I’ve never heard anyone bash those movies for lack of popularity. In fact, I hear Brother Bear and Atlantis being praised for the most part. Treasure Planet just sort of got pushed aside, not many people really consider it, while Home on the Range is usually the one that gets bashed.

    Personally I think Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, and Home on the Range beat Hannah Montana, Jonas Bros, High School Musical etc; even if they’re not instant classics like Aladdin and The Lion King. I wish I could say more, but I’ll only say that I’m still proud to be a fan. Some might think I’m weird, but I don’t care. But there is also a video somewhere on Youtube called Disney’s Recycled Animation which I thought was interesting. I understand why it was done now.

  16. DamiesEvilTwin says:

    @Disneyfan82
    Mm, …

    @Disneyfan82
    Mm, yes, of course they have. For example, a couple older movies recycled animation sequences a few times over. But hey, in the old days, you did what you could. Nowadays such a practice is less excusable… but still done (not by Disney, that I know of).

    I never hear of popularity being an issue. If such a thing were true, then High School Musical must be a testament to film. Those whom I’ve spoken with just state there’s no “heart” or the animation is lame.

    Never heard of the animators saying anything, but the other three I’ve mentioned have been bashed before for not being popular enough. Even most people have dismissed Meet the Robinsons as “too predictable” or filled with “bad humor” when they missed the whole point of the message behind it. Not trying to be rude or anything; only saying what I’ve heard. Even a few movies from Walt’s era had the same bad criticism which I will mention some other time.

  18. DamiesEvilTwin says:

    @Disneyfan82

    @Disneyfan82
    Actually, as far as 2D goes, I really only hear of Home on the Range getting bashed. Even the animators admitted to not really trying on it.

  19. Disneyfan82 says:

    I think every …
    I think every Disney movie here from past to present deserves to have their name here; with the exception of Chicken Little and The Wild. Those were the bad ones. Sorry, but I usually get sick of hearing Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, and Home on the Range being bashed for their faults and unpopularity. What do people have against cows anyway? It’s nice to see unusual animal heroes than what we usually get. I’m proud to be a fan of HOTR. And no one’s opinion is going to change that.

    the whales are from an early segment in Fantasia 2000, same with the fire (which is actually lava at first).
    the whales is the “Pines of Rome” sequence as the fire is from the last part, “The Fire Bird”
